CLF FABRICS
LOVER OF THE HANDMADE AND THE COLORFUL

Clare’s line focusses on the small-scale production of blockprinted, hand-embroidered, and handwoven fabrics for interiors, as well as handmade, unique decorative pillows.

She is inspired by antique textiles and traditional clothing, the people and places she loves, the power of color, the mystery of animals and nature, and a spirit of curiosity and hopefulness.

Clare cut her teeth in Istanbul, first working as an assistant to Josephine Powell on her collection of antique Anatolian flatweaves, then working for designer and antique textile expert extraordinaire Elizabeth Hewitt at Tulu Textiles. She has a background in antique and vintage textiles of Turkey, Central Asia, and northern India. TAMAM, the shop and brand, a partnership between Clare, Elizabeth Hewitt, and Hüseyin Kaplan, was in the East Village for five years.

Clare is available as a freelance production designer and a freelance decorating consultant. Be in touch.

Clare and her work have been featured in Vogue, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Veranda, WSJ, House Beautiful, The Cut, and many other fine publications.

Clare is also a professional tourist and a travel guide.
