Jewel-toned early 20th century Talish (Talysh) - Azerbaijani carpet with a field of flowers.

Classic Talish narrow carpet with several borders, including the elevating white-ground border, this particular rug is particularly lovely for its field full of geometric flowers. The Talish people in the southern Caucasus (current day Azerbaijan) are of Persian roots.

These non-commercial carpets are authentic and artistic expressions of their woven culture.

Supple hand, low-pile.
