KINSHIP is an homage to the typologies of Delft tiles, and also to my family.

My father grew up sailing on the San Francisco Bay, and his go-to doodle has always been sailboats.

We worked on this fabric together, my father doing the original sketches of sloops in various wind positions, then I doing watercolor/gauche versions, then these paintings going to the blockprinters to carve to look as much as like brushstrokes and glazy painting as possible.

The work of many hands and eye and minds (and hearts), KINSHIP is named after my Grandad’s little sailboat which still sails the Bay.
